Sex and Self is a youth-led sex education initiative founded at McGill University in 2019, which has since evolved into a Canadian non-profit with two university chapters. Sex and Self was created in response to the barriers to accessing comprehensive, evidence-based, trauma-informed, intersectional sex education.

To address the vast extent of misinformation and stigma perpetuated by the present unstandardized provincial curriculums, we provide comprehensive sexual education through seminars and workshops for young people across Canada. We believe it is a fundamental human right to have autonomy and agency over one’s body and sexuality, and we center intersectionality, independence, and empowerment at the core of our work.
